Giving Back to the Community

Part of our commitment to service involves giving back to our community. It is not enough to provide a service, we also want to contribute and volunteer for our communities. As an organization, we try to live that commitment every day and the people who work here make community contributions a part of their lives.

Here are some of the ways we give back:

Donating One Percent (1 %) of our Legal Fees to Local Education and Children’s Issues:

Beginning May 1, 2012, we have pledged to donate 1 percent of our legal fees to charities and programs that support local education and children’s issues. We serve clients from the New York Metropolitan area and have our main office in Huntington Village on Long Island and a satellite office in the Bronx. Therefore, we focus our contributions on organizations that serve these communities. We do not pretend that our contributions will change the world, but we want to be part of making things better. College Internship Program:

Beginning in the summer of 2012, we sponsored a College Internship for a student interested in considering a career in the law or service to others. This paid internship is part-time with flexible hours for the student. (We think unpaid internships too often take advantage of students). Students do real work and learn about all aspects of our business and have the opportunity to visit court.

Time Off for Employees to Engage in Community Service and Charitable Activities:

We encourage and respect the desire of our employees to engage in their communities. We provide paid time off for employees engaged in community and charitable activities and provide our office space and resources when they can help a project on which an employee is working.

Matching Employee Contributions:

We respect and honor the desire of our co-workers to make financial contributions to charitable organizations. We find that commitment inspiring and choose to demonstrate our support by offering a matching program for employee charitable contributions.

Membership in the Huntington Chamber of Commerce:

We have joined the Huntington Chamber of Commerce to connect with other local businesses and to give back to the community. You can read more about the chamber here.
