Web Sites for Select Court Systems

  • U.S. Supreme Court
    This site has information on the history and procedures of the Supreme Court as well as Court agendas and decisions.   

  • U.S. Court of Appeals
    This site contains information the Court of Appeals as well as appeals court decisions. You can find maps of the areas covered by each court.

  • U.S. District Court
    More court decisions as well as information on federal jury duty, court fees and help determining which court covers where you live.

  • New York Unified Court System
    Everything you want to know about the New York State Court system including information on how to represent yourself.  This site has links to very level court, including the Surrogate's Court.

  • American Trial Lawyers Association
    An insider's web site that serves the interest of the top trial lawyers in the country.

  • New York State Bar Association
    A rich and helpful site, it has information for lawyers, but it also has a large section dedicated to information for the citizens of New York. You can find news of legal matters here and links to many influential and informative legal blogs.

  • New York State Trial Lawyers Association
    The NYSTLA provides constantly updated information on legal issues facing New York State. It has a helpful Consumer Section.

  • Bronx Bar Association
    This site offers a referral system for people seeking a lawyer. It also has a section on scholarships for students interested in attending law school.

  • Brooklyn Bar Association
    This site also has a referral service as well as information on legal activity in Brooklyn. 

  • Suffolk County Bar Association
    You can find a referral service here as well as news on new and pending legislation.

  • Queens Bar Association

    This is a link to an online database of all the laws in New York State.

  • FindLaw.com
    This site lists lawyers who pay to be listed. The more you pay the better the listing. That said, it does have many useful articles about legal issues affecting all of us.

    Run by Matthew S. Lerner, this site offers updates and commentary on all aspects of civil law in New York.

  • New York Injury Cases Blog
    John Hochfelder writes this very detailed blog that goes in depth on pain and suffering verdicts. It is a good read for lawyers and non-lawyers alike.

  • The New York Medical Malpractice Blog
    Written by Andrew Barovick, this blog offers a good take on malpractice issues that looks at how medical malpractice laws and court decision affect all of us.
