New York Personal Injury Attorney
If you have been hurt or
injured due to the negligence or action of another person or
organization, you may be entitled to compensation. My practice
focuses on all aspects of personal injury law (also known as Tort
Law) and the buttons on the left list some of the major case types in
personal injury law. However, personal injury or tort
cases can include instances
when individuals suffered damages because of the following:
-
Assaults
-
Defective Products and Service Defects
-
Harassment
-
Animal Bites
If you have
suffered personal damage because of the actions or inactions of
another, then you may have a personal injury case.
If you have suffered a personal injury, you may be entitled to compensation. If you think you have a case or if you have questions, you should contact a New York personal injury lawyer. I will be glad to discuss your rights, answer your questions and help you with a potential case. You can call me at 1-800-660-1466 or send me an e-mail at Carol@SchlittLaw.com. The consultation is free and I will be glad to help you.
New York
Personal Injury or Tort Cases
In addition to
construction accidents,
auto accidents,
medical malpractice,
slip and fall,
premises liability,
landlord negligence,
work-related accidents,
pedestrian and bicycle accidents and
bus and subway accidents, New York
personal injury cases include the
following:
-
Defective Products or Services: If a defect in the manufacture of a product or instructions on how to use a product harms you, you may be entitled to compensation. One client of mine suffered an injury from a defective ladder. Another damaged her eyes dues to a problem with the contact lenses solution sold by the manufacturer. One client suffered burns from a toaster. Some defective product or service defect cases involve significant injuries and large sums of money. Other defective service or product cases may be small, yet still important to the client. I had one client who suffered a cut to his neck by a wayward barber. The case settled for $1,000 and the client received great satisfaction.
-
Assault cases: If a person has assaulted you, that person may face criminal charges, but you are also entitled to seek personal compensation. I had one case where we held the City of New York liable for an off-duty officer shooting a woman in Brooklyn. In one of a series of cases against overly aggressive bouncers at bars, a client received $105,000 when bouncers threw him to the ground and damaged his finger.
-
Animal Bites: Those pets we all love so much can do damage. One woman had a German shepherd leap onto her and took a bite out of her shoulder, leaving deep scratch marks in her chest from the dog’s paws. Dog bites can rip skin and cause infections. In another case, a rat bit a client while the man lay in bed. The rats had infested the apartment building because the landlord neglected to adequately exterminate the vermin despite complaints from tenants.
